“Optimized MLO” is overused in FiveM maps listings. A resmon screenshot on an empty server does not prove a public city will stay smooth when players enter a hospital, PD, mechanic bay, or mansion.

Client streaming vs server resmon

An MLO streams geometry, collisions, textures, portals, and lights to each client. Server resmon measures resource time on the server thread. A map-only resource can show almost no server time while a laptop still hitches on approach.

  • Resmon: server scripts and ticks.
  • Client: FPS, hitching, VRAM, textures, and streaming.
  • Network: extra entities, vehicles, targets, and jobs.

ESX, QBCore, QBox, and standalone stacks stream the same map. Jobs, targets, and doorlocks add separate work.

What “optimized” should disclose

Ask what was measured and under what conditions: approach distance, hot rooms, hardware class, gamebuild, LODs, portals, occlusion, textures, and nearby maps.

  1. Was it client FPS or server resmon?
  2. Was it tested from the street and in the busiest room?
  3. Are LODs and portals preventing unseen rooms from drawing?
  4. Were textures tested on a laptop-class GPU?
  5. Does the pack warn about dense props or vehicle bays?

A “0.00ms” claim without conditions is not a performance specification.
